Greensboro, North Carolina

On August 18th the 35th Air Depot Group was split up. I was one of the group sent to Greensboro, North Carolina.

On August 21, 1945 I arrived at Greensboro, North Carolina. I was assigned to Squadron C, Branch 6, 1060 AAF Base Unit, O R D (overseas replacement depot) Greensboro, North Carolina.

I was interviewed, briefed, debriefed, and finally given an assignment. I was assigned to Squadron Y - 1060 AAF Base Unit Greensboro-High Point Airport, Greensboro, North Carolina. I was assigned to the AAF Supply warehouse. My main job was to clean up a mess that someone had created there. There was no system of any kind set up. I had to fly all over the South in several different kinds of aircraft to help put the Supply Order in some sense of order.
