I visited Scotland several times, once to Edinburgh and once to Glasgow. The people were more friendly here than in England. I think mainly because there were not many GIs stationed in or visiting in Scotland. I also visited Loch Lomond while in Glasgow. The only time I ate in someone’s home was in Glasgow. A man and his wife, both in their 60's invited a GI to have dinner with them. They wanted to talk mainly politics and how it had affected the war. They also talked about their relatives in the service.
